Privacy Policy

This policy explains how AmoTech Electronics Ltd ("AmoTech", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website www.amotechelectronics.net and the AmoTech mobile app (together, the "Service"). The mobile app shows the same website, so this policy covers both.

We follow Rwanda's Law N° 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

• Order details: your name, phone number, email address (optional), delivery address or district, the products you order and any notes you add.
• Account details: if you create a customer account, your name, email, phone and a securely stored (hashed) password.
• Payment information: when you pay with Mobile Money we record the payment reference and amount. We do not collect or store card numbers or Mobile Money PINs.
• Messages and requests: information you send through contact forms, quotation (proforma) requests, product reviews, restock and deal alerts, or WhatsApp.
• Job applications: if you apply through our Careers page, your CV, documents and contact details.
• Basic usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate visit times, collected by our own website statistics to count visitors. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell this data.
• Data stored on your device: your shopping cart, language choice and similar settings are kept in your browser or app storage so the Service works and loads faster, including on weak internet.

3. How we use your information

• To process, deliver and support your orders, including order tracking.
• To send order confirmations, receipts, delivery updates and replies to your requests by email, SMS, phone or WhatsApp.
• To send restock or deal alerts only if you asked for them. To stop them, just reply to the message or contact us.
• To keep our records as required for tax and accounting in Rwanda.
• To protect the Service against fraud and misuse, and to improve it.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share only what is needed:

• Delivery riders see only your order number, first name, phone number and delivery address, so they can reach you. They do not see prices or payment details.
• Payment providers (such as MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money) process payments under their own privacy terms.
• Service providers that host our website and send our emails, under confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities, when Rwandan law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Account information is kept while your account is active. Job applications are kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Alert subscriptions are removed when you ask us to stop them.

6. How we protect it

The Service uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed. Staff access is limited by role, and sensitive areas are restricted to the owner. Even so, no online system is completely secure.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to its use, or withdraw consent for alerts. To make a request, email info@amotechelectronics.net or call +250 796 594 130. We will reply within 30 days. Records we must keep by law cannot be deleted before the legal period ends. You may also contact Rwanda's National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), which supervises data protection.

8. Children

The Service is meant for adults. Students under 18 should place orders with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children without that consent.

9. Mobile app permissions

The AmoTech app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera or microphone. If you choose to receive notifications, you can turn them off in your phone's settings at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes will be announced on the website.
